woolton fc web shop
Woolton FC has launched a new online fundraising web shop. If you intend to shop online please go through the Woolton FC Web Shop link below (or on other pages) and any purchases that you make will earn commission for the club. The commission rewards are pretty good (see below) so it will be worthwhile making any purchases through the web shop. Over 150 retailers can be accessed through the site including famous names such as M&S, HMV, Play.com, Ticketmaster, Game, Asda, Amazon, Ebay, LateRooms.com, Expedia, Zavvi, O2, Carphone Warehouse & many many more!
Before buying online make sure you go through the Woolton FC web shop to check out whether you can earn some money for the club. Please inform your family and friends. In view of the number of teams under the Woolton FC umbrella there is the potential to earn good commissions so that all teams and players will benefit. The more purchases made via the shop will increase the club's earning power. The shop is easy to use and you will not pay any more for your purchase so give it a try.

standards of behaviour
A complaint has been made recently to the M&HJFL about the behaviour of a player from a Woolton team. Poor standards of behaviour not only reflects badly on the individual and their team but also on Woolton FC and is not acceptable. Will managers, coaches, parents and players all ensure that everyone connected with their team is familiar with the FA Codes of Conduct and act in accordance with them. The Codes can be accessed on the About Us page of the website and can be printed off easily for use. Woolton FC values it's good reputation within the local leagues and community and the club does not wish to see that reputation damaged by a very small minority acting inappropriately.

tidying up
Despite previous requests that everyone help with tidying up after training and matches it is regrettable that the majority walk away and leave the clearing up to a very small number of people. It is the responsibility of all teams to ensure that the pitches and surrounding area are cleared of rubbish before they leave especially the teams taking part in the latest scheduled matches. The Committee will, with immediate effect, nominate one team each week that will be playing in one of the later matches to be responsible for clearing any rubbish. This will be done on a rotation basis but does not absolve other teams from being responsible for tidying up after their own match.
managers meeting
The next Managers Meeting will take place on Thursday 2 September at 7pm at Hope University. It is important that all teams are represented so please make every effort to be there. Fines will be imposed for non attendance.
COMMITTEE MEETING
The next Committee Meeting will be on Monday 5 July at 8pm at the Derby Arms (Woolton).
Academy session at camp hill each saturday at 9am
Can all managers/coaches please offer their assistance to Colin Ravenscroft at the academy sessions at least once during the remainder of the season. The sessions are for children between the ages of 7 and 10 and who are not currently signed to a team. The sessions are an important part of the club and take additional pressure off the separate training sessions of the respective teams within these age groups. Colin and the club will appreciate any help that you can provide. Please contact Colin by phone or email as soon as possible. See below for Colin's contact details:

Fa age appropriate coaching courses
David Woods has recently attended an introductory module for the new FA Age Appropriate courses which have been designed specifically to reflect the role of a coach working with children aged 5-11. It is the start of a process which will lead to a specialist qualification in coaching children and represents a new approach which recognizes the difference between coaching adults and children. The courses will introduce some new ideas although it is comforting to confirm that we are already doing a lot right at Woolton FC.
The coaching modules, which are well presented, will be made available by the Merseyside and Halewood League this year and it is recommended that as many of the club's coaches as possible should attend. Further details will be provided when available.
Team finances
The Committee strongly recommends that all teams adopt the following as best practice in respect of managing their finances:
- Open a bank or building society account in the team's name and operate all financial activities through it
- Operate a simple/basic cash book system to show the financial position
- The cash book should be available for inspection by parents, committee members etc
- Where possible the cash book and account should be operated by a parent/s other than the manager/coach
These recommendations are made purely to avoid any suggestion or accusation of financial irregularities being directed at any individual.
CLUB CONSTITUTION & fa cODES OF CONDUCT
The Constitution and Codes can now be accessed on the website. Please click on the appropriate link on the About Us page to be directed to them. Everyone involved with Woolton Football Club is expected to be familiar with the Constitution and the Codes and act in accordance with them.

Please forward any items for the News Page or information you want adding to or amending on your team's section of the website by email to ianwolfei@wooltondiamonds.org.uk Any requests will be actioned as quickly as possible.
TIDYING UP AFTER TRAINING/MATCH
Can we ALL make sure that when we leave a pitch after training or a match that it is clear of litter and that any equipment is returned to the storage location. DON'T LEAVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!
REGISTRATION NUMBER
Please note our FA registration number for season 2010/2011 is HAA00626
PARKING at camp hill & simpsons
Do not park on double yellow lines - you are likely to be given a ticket.
If you park on the Simpson Ground side please try to keep the whole of your car on the road. If you avoid parking on the the grass it will help to prevent damage to the tree roots and not tempt the council to protect them by using an increased number of double yellow lines. It will also reduce the traffic to single file and slow it down making the area safer for our children.
Child Protection
Please contact Andy Weighill (Club Welfare Officer) for any enquiries about Child Protection. Coaches who have a Safeguarding Children certificate must renew it every 3 years. The FA will write to you when your certificate expires and the club will contact coaches who need to renew their certificates. Woolton FC will cover the cost of recertification.
unwanted football kit - PLEASE donate it to kitaid
KitAid is a charity that sends unwanted football kit to children and adults across Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. Woolton FC supported KitAid in 2008
and we are doing so again this year. KitAid are grateful for all donations in good condition –
shirts, shorts, socks, shinpads, boots,
goalie gloves, balls, single items or full team kits, children’s or adult’s sizes. If you have anything you would like to donate, please give it to Lance, Ailsa or Andy at the hut. To find out more about KitAid search for “KitAid” on YouTube or Google
or ask Lance, Ailsa or Andy.
Liam
Costello - A Woolton Warrior
One of our boys Liam Costello, a member of the all conquering Woolton
Warriors under 12's team, passed away after a tragic accident in Snowdonia
in October 2007. Liam had been a club member since he was very young.
He was a talented footballer and a charming young man.
We have decided to rename our tournament the Liam Costello
Woolton Tournament as a permanent memorial to him. We hope
that you will support it.
