girls football tournament

Liverpool County Football Association held a girls football tournament on behalf of Woolton FC on Tuesday 18 May at Camp Hill. The tournament was played in glorious weather conditions and was a great success with around sixty girls from three schools taking part. Apparently the girls, teachers and parents enjoyed the afternoon and as some of the girls appeared to catch the football bug hopefully it will lead to the formation of a Woolton FC girls team/s. The effort that volunteers put in to make the afternoon a success is greatly appreciated by the club. Thanks also go to the county FA for their assistance.

ANNUAL sportsman's DINNER

friday 30 september 2011 at the holiday inn, lime street

The club holds an annual sportsman's dinner which usually takes place on the last Friday in September at the Holiday Inn on Lime Street. The evenings have proved very successful both in terms of being an enjoyable night for those attending and raising funds for the the club to use to benefit the players. Neil 'Razor' Ruddock will be the guest speaker at the 2011 event.

The 2010 event was very successful and the guest speakers Ian Snodin and Jan Molby were entertaining and the comedian Willie Miller rattled off some good one liners and did a great job with a quick fire auction Thanks go to Rav Jagota and Kenny Saunders, and anyone else who helped out, for their tireless efforts in organising the evening. Make sure you support the event next year and if you take tickets please ensure that they are paid for as early as possible and do not return them late in the day. May thanks to all who supported the event this year.

Kenny Saunders was the recipient of a special award presented on the night in recognition of his service to the club particularly in coaching ‘the babies’. Kenny’s commitment and enthusiasm is undoubted and the award is thoroughly deserved. Congratulations Kenny.

Make a note in your diaries now for a similar date next year - support the club in its attempt to raise funds for the benefit of the players and enjoy yourself at the same time.
